There's a lot of things I wanna save up to buy. These are those things:
Ever since I first bought my steam deck a few years ago, it's become my favourite device. Before then, I was using a computer I built myself with parts I got online. It was more powerful than the steam deck, but I rarely needed the extra power it provided. I ended up giving my old computer to my bf whose computer at the time was total buns. Now, we share a study and I occasionally borrow his computer for higher end games or bigger workloads.
Because of this, I'm interested in buying a steam machine. I don't tend to use the steam deck much in handheld mode, and have it docked at my desk for all of eternity. Additionally, one of my friends is interested in PC gaming and I feel they would get a lot of value out of a steam deck (that I would then be able to gift to them).
As of writing this (12/06/26) the steam machine still isn't released. The machine was originally announced to release in February(!) but due to shortages in certain components (thanks to the A.I. market hhh) the release is on hiatus for an unknown amount of time.
i LOVE crt monitors. I grew up with a lot of crt tvs and monitors and find them warmly nostalgic. I love emulating older titles on my pc, and I must admit, they do tend to look better on a crt.
Currently, my daily driver phone is a Mive Style Folder 1, an oldschool flip phone with a modern version of android. I love the y2k aesthetic, using tactile buttons, and typing on a t9 keyboard. I originally bought it to help me with my attention span, cut down on my screentime and spend more time enjoying my life irl. Having to actually flip open the phone tends to disuade me well enough from checking my phone needlessly. Instead of doomscrolling, I might read a book, message/call a friend or check on my online communities.
I mainly only use my phone for calls, texting, maps, notes, finance and music, all of which I can do. However, some apps aren't supported on the Style Folder, either due to being for a newer version of android or being too slow. I can use instagram or facebook messager, but if my friends message me on tiktok, I literally can't view it until I get home. The t9 keyboard is also amazing, but only until you want to type in a language the phone doesnt support (I'm looking at you, toki pona).
Because of this, I'm probably gonna buy a normal phone that's a little faster, has a decent battery, nice camera, and can maybe play some light games in sans of my steam deck.
I bought myself a kobo clara BW a few months ago, and it has been so much fun. Staring at my phone, or any screen for that matter, does hurt my eyes after a while, so a dedicated device for staring did feel like a nobrainer. I haven't read a novel for fun since I was in school, and an ereader lets me conveniently bring my whole library wherever I go. It has joined my wallet, keys and phone as an everyday carry.
However the kobo clara is just slightly too big for most of my pockets, so I'm looking for something smaller to keep me reading.
